An invitation sent out to a linesman requesting his attendance for the friendly match between Dundee and Elfsborg Boras of Sweden for the match to be played on Wednesday the 22nd of November 1961.
This was a welcome break for Dundee from League pressures, the current League leaders in what was the Championship winning season. Elfsborg were the current Swedish Champions.
Dundee would run out 8-1 winners with the goals coming from Andy Penman with five, one goal coming from the penalty spot, Alan ,Gilzean, Hugh Robertson and George McGeachie scoring the other goals. Bartholdsson scoring for the Swedes.
