Started up in December 1982 under the name of the Dark Blue Juniors, masterminded by Dundee FC director Andrew Marshall, the group was renamed the Junior Dark Blues in September 1984 when a steering group of Dundee supporters came on board. A committee including Andrew Marshall, Allan Ireland, Alistair Joss, Angelo Kelly, Steven Mitchell, Sandy Brand and Jim Hendry amongst others set about expanding the membership volunteering their time to arrange open days, travel to away matches, Christmas parties, travel to the Tennents sixes tournaments, designing and issuing newsletters and so much more.
